Line up and make your way across the iconic theater at Houston for the premium viewing pleasure at the core of Texas!
Composed and helmed by esteemed playwright Conor McPherson and featuring world-class orchestrations by Simon Hale, Girl From the North Country redefines a collection of hits by Kennedy Center Honoree Bob Dylan with an entirely new perspective!
The realistic story of the musical emerges in a homey retreat in Minnesota amidst the hardships of the Great Depression. It's a story that centers on the lives of the people staying there - guests and long-term residents alike. Each of them carries their own cross and what makes this play intriguing is how it interweaves all these characters' lives.
The theatre performance will include everyone’s favorite songs including “Forever Young,” “Like A Rolling Stone” “All Along The Watchtower,” “Slow Train Coming,” and “Hurricane”
An interview with The Marlowe explores how director Conor McPherson had no experience with directing a musical prior to this project and found himself revelling in the refreshing experience. He shares that when it comes to a straight play, the challenge lies in keeping the audience engaged merely through the script and performance. However, in a musical, there are moments where someone might advise, “Shall we have a refreshing pause for everyone's benefit?” and you'd willingly affirm, thinking it sounds quite charming.
